The effect of three anti-paint on PCB

Time:2022-09-27 Visit:

Maybe some people are not very clear about the conformal paint. Now I will give a brief introduction. Three-proof paint, also known as PCB electronic circuit board protection oil, coating oil, moisture-proof paint, three-proof paint, waterproof glue, insulating paint, anti-corrosion paint, anti-salt spray paint, dust-proof paint, protective paint, top coat, three-proof paint glue etc.

The PCB circuit board using the three-proof paint has waterproof, moisture-proof, dust-proof "three-proof" performance and thermal shock resistance, anti-aging, anti-radiation, anti-salt spray, anti-ozone corrosion, anti-vibration, good flexibility and adhesion. Strong performance.

Moisture in the PCB manufacturing process is the most common and destructive major factor for PCB circuit boards. Excessive moisture will greatly reduce the insulation resistance between conductors, accelerate high-speed decomposition, reduce the Q value, and corrode the conductors. We often see the patina of the metal parts of the PCB circuit board, which is caused by the chemical reaction of the metal copper in the absence of conformal paint, water vapor and oxygen. Hundreds of contaminants found casually on printed circuit boards can be equally damaging. They can lead to the same results as moisture attack - electronic decay, conductor corrosion and even irreparable short circuits.

Probably the most common contaminants in electrical systems are chemicals left over from the manufacturing process. Examples of these contaminants are flux, solvent release agents, metal particles, and marking inks. There are also major human-caused contamination groups, such as human oils, fingerprints, cosmetics and food residues. There are also many pollutants in the operating environment, such as salt spray, sand, fuel, acid and other corrosive vapors and mold. The application of conformal paint on printed circuit boards and components can greatly reduce or eliminate the deterioration of electronic performance when they may be affected by adverse factors in the working environment. If the coating can maintain its function for a satisfactory period of time, such as beyond the service life of the product, the purpose of the coating can be considered to have been achieved. Even when the coating is thin, it can withstand mechanical vibration and vibration, thermal shock and high temperature operation to some extent. Components must be mechanically inserted and must have their own proper caulk so that there is double insurance against accidents. Therefore, the use of conformal paint plays an absolute role in PCB production.
