According to the PCB factory editor, white LED is a voltage-sensitive device, and the current upper limit is 20mA in actual work. But in use, the current tends to increase for various reasons. If no protective measures are taken, the increased current will be damaged after a certain time and magnitude.
The main reasons for LED damage are:
(1) The power supply voltage suddenly rises;
(2) A component or printed wire or other wire in the circuit is short-circuited to form a local LED power circuit short circuit, which increases the voltage of this part;
(3) An LED is short-circuited due to its own quality damage, and its original voltage drop is transferred to other LEDs;
(4) The temperature inside the lamp is too high, resulting in the deterioration of LED characteristics;
(5) The lamp is filled with water and conducts electricity;
(6) Anti-static work was not done during assembly, so that the interior of the LED has been damaged by static electricity.
Although normal voltage and current values are used, it is also prone to damage to the LEDs.
