In 1956, my country began to develop PCB.
In the 1960s, single-sided boards were mass-produced, double-sided boards were produced in small batches and multi-layer boards were developed.
In the 1970s, due to the limitation of the historical conditions at that time, the development of printed circuit board technology was slow, which made the entire production technology lag behind the advanced foreign level.
In the 1980s, advanced single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer printed board production lines were introduced from abroad, which improved the production technology level of printed boards in my country.
In the 1990s, foreign printed board manufacturers from Hong Kong and other countries, as well as Japan, came to my country to set up joint ventures and wholly-owned factories, which made my country's printed board production and technology advance by leaps and bounds.
In 2002, it became the third largest PCB producer.
In 2003, PCB output value and import and export volume both exceeded 6 billion US dollars, surpassing the United States for the first time and becoming the world's second largest PCB producer.
In 2006, China has replaced Japan as the world's largest PCB production base and the country with the most active technology development.
In recent years, my country's PCB industry has maintained a rapid growth of about 20%, which is much higher than the growth rate of the global PCB industry. From 2008 to 2016, the output value of my country's PCB industry increased from US$15.037 billion to US$27.123 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.65%, much higher than the global overall compound growth rate of 1.47%. In 2018, my country's PCB output value reached US$33.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10.16%.
